REBUT

1. Not my real birth name. Don't ask. Well, you can, but it isn't that interesting.

5. I am living proof that pilots don't need to be smart.

6. I love that movie. But I don't recommend it to everyone. I don't want them to know how much I cried and how big of a pansy I am. The book is good too but the movie is better.

7. Heather and laundry don't even belong in the same sentence. Unless it goes like this, "As she hustled out the door, Heather yelled to her hubby, 'You better have the laundry done before I get home, Pansy!'"

8. It doesn't matter, I am always right.

9. If by responsible you mean that you spent the money in the first place I would say you are 95% responsible.

19. We first saw each other at a singles ward Halloween Dance. She thought I was a creep cause I was staring at her then too.

20. Subtly she said, "how come you didn't ask me for my number before?" Hint, Hint.

21. Heather tried to kiss me on our first date. I gave her a hug and as I pulled back to smile at her and say good night and I saw her close her eyes and pucker up. I just kept looking at her until she opened her eyes. I still laugh about it.

23. Cessna 172. It was a great flight until she said, I have to pee and we were still about 20 mins away from the airport. Good times.

Heather, I love you lots!

I tag Jose, Josb and Gibbs.

Hubby Tag

1. What is his name? Matthew Yuille Menzie

2. Who eats more? Usually Matt, but it might be a toss up when I'm prego!

3. Who said "I love you" first? Matthew did, the night he rolled his ankle really bad at his brother's place. It was so bad he couldn't make it down the stairs to go to his apt, and had to sleep on their couch. I was also staying there, so I took care of him throughout the night. After I finished reading the scriptures out loud to him, and I was getting ready to fall asleep on my side of the room, he told me that he loved me. It was super sweet and don't worry we were very good kids, even though we had to sleep in the same living room!

4. Who is taller? Matthew

5. Who is smarter? I think that Matt is smarter in a lot of areas, I mean he is a pilot and all! But, in other areas he would say that I am.

6. Who is more sensitive? Probably me, but Matt does have a very sensitive side. Try watching the Notebook with him!

7. Who does the laundry? I usually do the laundry, but I hate folding it, so Matt usually breaks down and folds it for us.

8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Matthew

9. Who pays the bills? We both have bills that we are responsible for paying.

10. Who cooks more? That is definitely Matthew! He is a much, much better cook than I am, plus he enjoys cooking and I don't.

11. What meals do you cook together? It depends on what's going on. We make fajitas together and my Grandma's potato soup.

12. Who is more stubborn? Matthew.

13. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? We are first to admit that the OTHER is wrong!

14. Who has more siblings? Matt, he has 4 brothers and 1 sister. I have a brother and a sister.

15. Who wears the pants in the relationship? Neither of us! My pants are getting too tight, because I'm pregnant, and Matt's are getting tight from sympathy weight! Really I couldn't say who wears them. We try to work together on making decisions.

16. What do you like to do together? We like to pretty much do everything together. I can't think of specifics.

17. Who eats more sweets? Me

18. Guilty pleasures? Dark chocolate

19. How did you meet? I went to the Singles Ward in Orlando to hear a good friend give a talk, and Matt was giving a talk too. I recognized him from the dance that I had just gone to. He was hanging out with my sister's future husband. Matt could not take his eyes off of me the whole time he was giving his talk, so of course I had to go and talk to him after sacrament meeting. I had to wait for the other girls to clear out away from him though! He followed me into Sunday School and sat with me.

20. Who asked out who first? Matt asked me out first, but after I helped him along with the process. We lived about an hour and a half away from each other, so I had to show up at the Singles Ward another time, so that he could see me again. After spending that Sunday together at a service thing at the mall (its a long story), he asked for my number and took me out that week.

21. Who kissed who first? Matthew kissed me first. We were at the beach and had been swimming and hanging out. I sat on the beach watching him surf, and when he was done he came over and sat with me. He asked me to get back in the water with him, so I did. I knew that he was going to kiss me. After kissing for the first time, he said something like, "Its on now!" I guess after getting over the hurtle of the first kiss, he felt like he could kiss me whenever he wanted!
(By the way, my sister Steph and her future hubby Greg had their first kiss on the same day!)

22. Who proposed? Matthew proposed in an airplane he was flying, over the Orlando Temple at night time on December 13, 2003. It was beautiful. We were married on March 20, 2004 in the Orlando Temple.

23. His best features? His height and his hair.

24. What is his greatest quality? Matt treats me like a princess. He really does so many nice things for me. And, he is a great father. He loves playing with Mattie and showering her with love.

I tag... any of my sis-in-laws that feel sentimental, and Faith and Erica.

Happy Fourth of July!

We got back from our wonderful trip to Utah late Wed. night, and I have not yet had a chance to blog about it. We were there for almost two weeks! Anyway, I decided to go ahead and blog about the 4Th of July, so that it would actually get done!
Our Ward had a pancake breakfast, which Matt andI slept through, because we are still trying to get back on our Eastern time! I was kind of sad that we missed it, especially when my friend called me up and said everyone was wondering where Mattie was, and what she was going to have on! She said they were expecting flags in her hair or something! I didn't know that I had such a reputation of getting Mattie so dressed up!

My mother decided to take Mattie to the movies in the morning to see WALL•E.
Mattie knew that Grandma would be taking her to see it, and even talked about it on our trip in Utah. It has kind of become their thing; going to the movies together. I love that my mom is continueing this tradition. We didn't have much when I was growing up, but my mother always managed to take us to the movies to see the new cartoons that had come out! Mattie really enjoys her time with Grandma at the movies, and yesterday was no exception. She got her little change purse and put her ticket in it, and even bought herself a Children's Popcorn meal thing. It comes with popcorn, candy and an Icee. Mattie made it through about 20 minutes of the movie and then fell asleep. I told you we are still trying to get back on our own Time Zone! But, she enjoyed the part that she saw very much!

In the afternoon we went over to the Berger's home to celebrate the Fourth. That is also a tradition for us.
We had BBQ pork, hot dogs and hamburgers, plus all of the other regular things you eat at a BBQ. After eating, Matt got in the pool with Mattie. I was going to get in, but was just soooo tired. (I feel like pregnancy is kicking my butt this time!) I just sat out and watched. After swimming for a while, we took the children to the backyard to do fireworks. We always do them when its still light out, but the kids don't seem to mind. The Dads took turns lighting the fireworks, and I think that they were having a better time than the kids! Why is it that grown men think it is so much fun to play with fire and blow things up!?! After setting off all of the fireworks, we let the children do sparklers. I was a little worried about the sparklers and how young some of the kids were, but we kept a close watch on them. Mattie and her little friend Eden had a blast playing together and watching the fireworks.
We headed home after finishing the fireworks. I was super tired, so we just watched a movie when we got home. We did turn on the TV at about 10pm and watched part of the Boston Pops. It brought back fond memories of our last Fourth of July. We visited Matt's older brother Wayne and his family in Boston last year. It was the best fireworks show that we have ever seen, even with it raining on us the entire time! We'll have to go back another year and experience it without the cold rain.

We hope that everyone had a magnificent Independence Day! We are very grateful that we live in such a wonderful country, and that we have our freedom. Thank you to all who have made this possible, and to those that continue to fight for our great country!
